A Doctor of Science who also has a Master's degree in Chemistry of Bombay University, Gupta started his career path as an assistant professor at the Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences. Governed by his desire to fight life-threatening diseases led him to launch Lupin in 1968 as a little vitamin company with a really small investment of $120.
During the years, Lupin grew into one of the leading producers of anti-tuberculosis drugs and Cephalosporin antibiotics segments worldwide.
